Note to the young ladies of Montreal - and elsewhere, I am sure:

The shiny black leggings? The ones we tried to wear circa 1982? Not cute then, and certainly not cute now. They have the ability to make even thin girls look just terrible. And pairing it with the puzzling Long camisole/slip  over a t shirt is beyond me.

What next? The return of the stirrup pant?

I blame you, American Apparel.

I've seen leg warmers around campus over the winter here in NE PA and I saw a MAN wearing stirrup pants at Hershey Park last week.

this weekend i saw a "lady" wearing lacy legging stirrup pants coupled with the extra long tank. it was as if she had no shape, yet her legs looked gigantic because nothing was hidden. It was just plain a fashion nightmare

When will the 80s redux die, so I can come out of my house again?

I seriously double took a young man who walked by me in what I can only describe as a Neon multi-colored shirt, stolen from the set of Sixteen Candles. I said to Terrance that he should have hung onto that damn Hyper color t-shirt he loved so much in 1990.

I love how NONE of us who actually lived through the 80s want these fashions to come back. Every time I see a teenaged girl walking down the street wearing an oversized hot pink horizontal stripe sailor shirt over leggings, plus hoop earrings, bangles, and overstyled hair, I just want to say, "We tried this already. We stopped for a reason!"

I can't do leggings and a t-shirt. I just can't. It's a service to the public for me to avoid clothes that are that unflattering to a butt like mine.

I've seen stirrup pants on sale at the Maine Mall Dawn, we are reliving our fashion hell

Not one human being EVER looked good in stirrup pants. NOT ONE. And that was BEFORE our collective asses got big.

My eyes were rolling so hard I thought they were going to pop out yesterday at the school family picnic. The parents AND the kids. And the Big Bangle earrings?

My army of scrunchies is prepared to sprout off-center pony tails from the top of my head once again. Won't look as nice without the headgear and braces, but there's a limit as to what I am willing to sacrifice in the name of fashion.
