Isn't that a bit of a blame-the-victim perspective? The tree defenestrates it's leaves in autumn because they are no longer adequate sources of food.

This poor leaf one was the first to go, so for all we know there could be some unseen injustice driving the the decision of this leaf.

Would we cast such judgment on a lifetime employee who was the first to be let go in a corporate "rightsizing" operation?

(reverting back to serious mode)

I love this photo for its contrasts, the chance driven beauty of the natural against the relatively achromatic sterility of the artificial.
