Behold!
My First new pair of shoes since moving to Montreal!
Given to me by my husband, for he is tired of seeing me hobble about, toes wrapped in multicolored bandages! Lo, though my toes hurt mightily, I could not break down and wear non-cute shoes, for it went against every fiber of my being.
These shoes represent the compromise. Cute, and rather sassy, but not heels.
I approve. Terrance hates them.
Next, the search for the non-dorky backpack....
and gratuitous cat shots for the still unofficially named cat ( but who seems to be called "Jazzy" by my daughter)

I think the shoes rock. And how about a messenger bag instead of backpack?
I think the cat is darling, but I still don't want one. Not for a while.
Oooh! Badass shoes like that totally deserve a messenger bag accompaniment.
And please don't say "search" and "backpack" together any more. I'm in recovery, you see...
Nice. T doesn't know what he's talking about. I have a pair rather similar to those (only mine are brown), and I get compliments on them constantly.
Yesterday my husband bought me knee-high boots. He is officially in my good graces for at least a week.
I like those shoes, they look so comfortable. The cat is cute-I am terrible at naming pets, so Jazzy sounds good to me!
cute shoes! Love the strappy-ness. They are a good compromise. Could that cat be any fluffier? He(?) looks soooo snuggly!
Oh and I stumbled upon your blog randomly while searching for other people who are blogging about "cute shoes" hee!
Also, I vote for the messenger bag too! :)
You know, I can't remember if the cat is a girl or a boy, but it just occurred to me that you should name it Vlad.
Of course you could still call it Jazzy for fun. Jazzy Vlad.
Great shoes and very cute cat. I like the name Jazzy.
nice. i like them. i also see why T does not...but that is a whole other post.
I have a name for your cat.
Cats and new shoes! Awesome. Mothergoosemouse is right, those deserve a kicky messenger bag to go with them.
The shoe comprise is hard. I finally gave in and bought comfy, but cute shoes after spending a day limping with bloody feet and then walking around bare foot.
Cute shoes.
so has ten year been updated to Velcro? very kicky and they look comfortable. win-win
I need a pair of shoes like those. the shoes i wear for comfort are not very aesthetic. cute cat!
He looks like a Jazzy, and coincidentally, your shoes are also jazzy.
I like the shoes!
We're also having a cat naming crisis. You could name yours Badass. Or Badass's Sidekick, and BS for short.
*why can't I think of this stuff for my own cat???*
I love cute shoes. On other people.
On my feet, I want shoes I can walk a mile in. I can't walk a block in heels, nor can I pull of anything mule-like. I'm incapable. So I'm always on the lookout for comfortable shoes with attitude. These fit the bill.
Hi,
The shoes are fabulous. They look like sketchers. I have the cutest little mary-jane sketchers (I actually bought them in cream, and then went back for the brown and black) that look something like those, and they are incredibly comfortable.
Re the bag--with your workload from school, I would probably stick with a backpack, and not a messenger bag--messenger bags are much harder on your back. You can get cute ones at Roots, for example, or if you ever wander over to the capital, there is a Mountain Equipment Co-op (a fab Canadian store that sells all sorts of backpacks at very good prices) just outside of downtown, in Westboro.
Cheers, and I'm glad you're enjoying Canada!

Saucy, and practical: the Holy Grail of shoes. Terence is ignorant of these things. Go boldly forward in your new footwear.
And go Roots for your bag.
