"Dawn, come here."
"What? I'm busy."
"Just come here."
"Hang on."
(Dawn walks from bedroom to study)
"What?"
"Do you smell that?"
"Smell what - I don't smell anything."
"Wait a second....right now - do you smell that?"
"OOOOOhhhhhh. Yes, I do smell that."
"Do you know what that is?"
"Are you inferring that I SHOULD know what that is? Or that I have had previous knowledge of that particular smell? For I rebuke thee, Satan."
"PLEASE! You went to the University of Vermont. Damn. It smells like it is right on our deck..."
(Dawn and Terrance tumble out onto their deck to eye the source of the mysterious aroma. They spy their new neighbor sitting right outside.... Small talk is made. They shuffle back inside)
"Well, now we know."
"We sure do."
"I wonder if I talk loudly about having glaucoma if he'll offer us some."
"He probably thinks you're a narc. What black guy has a PhD? Screams Narc."

Sweet. I knew Canada was cool.
Duuuuuuuude.
We once looked at an apartment in Brooklyn that literally REEKED. The owner must have snuffed it out as soon as we rang the bell.
Heh. Too funny. I love it.
You went to UVM? I spent two summers in Burlington with my UVM friends, back in the day.
But, uh, surely you didn't meet your husband there? I didn't think they had black people in Vermont. ;)
Well, I bet your neighbor is very ...laid back. Which can be nice. Be sure to bring him some brownies or something.
Whenever I see a VT game on (viginia tech) I always ask Mike,"since when did Vermont get black people? News to me." he thinks it's NOT FUNNY everytime I do that, too.
Nice neighbors. start blaring the "could this be looooooove?" song, maybe they'll take the hint that you like their flavah.
LMFAO.
"Ear."
Maybe you can get him to hook you up.
Doesn't Terrence have braids? I would think this would be like a calling card for "the pot."
I second Jen, blare the Bob. Soon you'll be sitting around living room passing a glass bong.
Ohhh, so that's where the Upstairs Boys moved to...
LMFAO @ the end of this post... BWAHAHHAHA
LMFAO! too! Say, "Hey, break out..............he'll know what you mean.
Hmmm. Even a narc has to "partake" in order not to LOOK like a narc. I say "go for it".
I wish we had neighbors like that. Ours are either old folks or like the guy across the street who mows his lawn every other day. That guy NEEDS a doobie.
Heeheee.
And I'm getting a kick out of everyone's comments.
My neighbour gets stoned in his garage. One night, on the way home from a meeting we banged on his garage door and shouted THIS IS THE POLICE. I near about peed myself seeing two sets of hands trying to clear the smoke from the garage windows... Ahhh good times, good times.
Cheers!
Julie
I'm jealous. Our neighbors are too far away for us to catch what they might be smoking. That's the easiest hookup ever.
And as far as I'm concerned black guy with PhD would be the first person I would ask. :o)
Better get him some brownie mix instead. If you bake the brownies, they'll be missing a key ingredient.
I wonder if he married my roommate from hell.
Andrea (above) just took the words right outta my mouth...(well, except for the roommate part) LOL!
I'm with Teebs. Phd = partakes in homegrown doobies
Puff puff give muthafucka!
I so need to move to Canada.
Well, at least if they do anything stupid you already know "what they were smokin"!
found your blog while perusing julie's blogroll. i've been reading your old stuff while on hold with the kc municipal court. managed to get through august, sept and oct 2005 and i'm STILL on hold. but anyway, it's been a very pleasant hold, thanks to the reading material. i think i love you.
Sweet! At the very least, you can catch a residual buzz while you pretend to water your begonias.
mignon. puff-puff-give. *wiping tears from eyes*
it's been awhile since I'd heard that.
Dawn, school's not in session yet, right? riiiiight.
Hey! Maybe they have some home-made apple spice bread!
Invite him over for dinner! Bet you get hooked up right quick.
Can I come visit you and Terrence? I wouldn't even need any. I would be laughing all weekend at the dialogue alone.
