Lessons Learned while packing

Wednesday, June 28, 2006

I can stop buying floss for awhile. You can see by this that both Terrance and I are chronic flossers. We stash it all over the house, and car and in the pockets of coats. (This is So for you E.)

Um. I'm a little "anal" about the shoes. These are just the ones in the boxes.

And here are the J Crew boots, and strappy wedges...

If you no longer own a cassette player, then it is time to give up your collection of cassettes. Yes, I know that these represent the 80's and 90's for you, but let it go, baby, let it go.

Now I must go untangle my bizarre love for saving National Geographics.

No...NO....NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

If you don't want the tapes, send them to me. I love the tapes.

Ironically enough, I organized my shoes this morning. I have a Franco Sarto box that looks just like that one (smaller than all my other boxes). Perhaps we own matching shoes!

Oh. My. God. with the shoes! That's more shoes that I would ever dream of owning at once. It's like your own shoe store!

So THAT's what happened to my Dead or Alive tape. Give it back, bitch.

Okay, I had the Like a Prayer tape, and when I opened it, it smelled like patchouli. I always wondered if it was just my copy.

I wonder where all my tapes went.

btw, I love your true wives confessions. They are fantastic! Now I have to think of something to submit...

Good to know I'm not the only one with the weird addiction to not throwing out the National Geographics. I think it's an inherited gene. I swear my mom is doing the same thing with her NG's going back to the 50's/60's. Good luck with that.

Also, I hope you enjoyed your afternoon ::wink, wink, nudge, nudge::

I. Love. Your Shoes.

Please pack me up with them, I promise to sit quietly... I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a slight abundance of shoes.

I don't think you have enough floss.

I think I got rid of last of my tapes 2 years ago...all about space. The stereo/boom box thing I got in 1992 was kicked to the curb 6 mos ago (literally, we left it on the sidewalk an dsomeone else grabbed it), thanks to iPod I can do this.
Do yo have Huey Lewis & the News "Sports"?
I don't do the boxes - I do have shoe condo...pretty sweet.

Oooh, all that floss. You're turning me on! The shoes are sexy, too, but the floss, the floss...

We own a cassette player we never use, but still we have box upon box of cassette tapes saved. I also have boxes of CDs I will probably never listen to stored in my basement in a box marked "CDs - historically interesting." What makes any of them "historically interesting" is a story in itself...

The shoes! The shoooooes!

*sobs of joy and wonder*

I aspire to have such a collection some day. Some day...

I have always aspired to be a flosser. I just. can't. get. myself to. No matter how hard I try.

General Public! Pet Shop Boys! Billy Bragg! How did you get into my front hall closet? (Nate yells at me to throw them out...but how can I?)

Fishbone!!! I cannot get over what appears to be the reality of my surroundings!!! Honestly one of my top 3 all time favorite bands. The song "everyday sunshine" is still what I listen to when I'm in a bad mood, it can cheer me up like no other.

My husband is the same way with floss. I think it's a form of OCD, according to the DSM.

I hate to break it to you but you need more floss. And more shoes. heeheee.

My mom (a dental assistant) would be so happy and proud of you to see all of that floss.

Okay, I'm back. I was so overwhelmed by the floss, I didn't even notice the music. Your cassettes and my cassettes, baby - chemistry all over the place. Yes, Fishbone, total formative band (for me, it was Truth and Soul). Elvis Costello, Billie Holiday, B-52s, General Public, Billy Bragg, the Pogues. De La Soul and Queen Latifah, both in heavy rotation the summer of '89. Not to mention the stuff I hid from my punk rock friends: Paul Simon, with and without Art, Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac.

I'm having some pleasant late 80s-early 90s flashbacks.

I love that you have Ice-T located immediately next to Harry Connick, Jr.

that right there is some contrast, sister.

Okay...the floss problem? Substitute powdered cumin and you have my spice cabinet. Or use shampoo and you have my bathroom cabinet. You are my soul sister.
